Watchers

For the past five months or so I haven't felt like writing anything. A couple of days ago I got the urge to continue with my Some Kind of Love Song series. I only had one chapter left to go (about 6000 words left to write). I started Saturday evening and I finished about a half hour ago. Huzzah! I've finally finished my first main project! And now I have that strange tingly feeling in my diaphragm that indicates I'm pleased with myself. I still have to edit the series, but at the moment I don't really care. I am ecstatic! Sean? You finally got it. Now you can stop threatening me with bodily harm to finish the damned thing.

For those that have read it, I'm planning on writing an epilogue (or follow-up to the story), so if there are any wossnames you want me to take a deeper look into, let me know.

So... What else has been happening for the past 4 months? I'm now a qualified (and registered) teacher, mainly doing substitute work. Oddly, most of it is at Buninyong where a number of the kids follow me around when I'm on yard duty and chant my middle name at me. Actually, that's not that odd. None of them have tried to hug me yet. And no, Eb, that doesn't mean I want you to tell people to hug me. I get too much of that when I teach at high school. Seriously.

Yeah, I've been teaching the odd day here and there, playing and pretending to work on my nerd game projects, and generally just kicking back and chilling. I've found that I'm not used to having money. After I finished my placement at the high school and spent most of the money I earnt, everything I earn now just sits in my bank account because I've bought almost everything I want. I still want to get a video camera for this one project that I'm planning (sort of) with a couple of friends. I'm not sure whether it will take off, but it's entirely possible. And might even be profitable! How rare! More money for me to not be able to spend! Huzzah!

Long time no see sir. Doesn't look like you've been too active either. Little kids taking up all your time?

Help me. I'm so lost and I can't find my way to the nearest pub.

Well, that and landing in hospital for several weeks with pneumonia. Spent a couple of months in recovery. Not a whole lot of fun, really.

Granted, that hasn't stopped me from having story ideas. Just a lack of inclination to write them at the moment.

Ah, serious suckage then. Would have thought that all that free time in recovery would have been good, but then I guess it wasn't.

True. I figured I'd be able to use most of that time to get all my lesson prep done for the year. Of course, that idea went out the window when I realised I could barely walk anymore.

Let me put this as simple as possible: where are you?

Um... I can't be sure, but I may have been dead. Nah, I've been rather overrun with teaching this year, so haven't had a lot of time for anything else. You may be pleased to know that I've recently started writing again (after finding a story I started ages ago, but lost). You might like it.
